3rd Annual Northport Plein Air Painters Event
If you missed last years Plein Air Painters Event down in Northport Village, don't fret. It's back! Friday, June 26 - Sunday, June 28.
And this year's event is going to be even better. The Northport Arts Coalition, the sponsor of the event, has added a day of classical music to the proceedings. Just like the painting event, the music is free. Bring a lawn chair! Bring the family! Bring the dog! Saturday, June 27 from 12:30 pm to 4:30 pm at the Northport Village Park.

Two Artist Show - LaMantia Gallery
Who needs to go into Manhattan or drive out to the Hamptons to see a distinguished artist showcase?!
Our Northport had the pleasure of meeting two of Russia's most collected and dynamic painters, Andrew Atroshenko and Irene Sheri, right here in Northport at the LaMantia Gallery. Andrew's work is inspired by his love of music and Irene uses bold colors and fluid lines to convey strong emotions in her paintings. Both artists are graduates of the prestigious St. Petersburg Academy of Art.

Northport's 2nd Annual Plein Air Event
The summer solstice weekend of June 20th - 23nd saw the gathering of many of the regions most accomplished plein air artists in Northport Village. "En plein air", is a French term meaning to paint outdoors in natural light.
Friday and Saturday were paint days. Passers-by could stop and chat with the artists or simply just watch in wonder and admiration as beautiful art was created before their eyes. On Sunday, an exhibit and silent auction was held for the still "wet" paintings at LaMantia Gallery.
The event was sponsored by The Northport Arts Coalition in cooperation with LaMantia Gallery and artist Anthony Davis of The Long Island Plein Air Painters Society.
